The 15 students and two leaders were honoured to be farewelled by Campbelltown Council at a mayoral reception on Wednesday 13 September. The group delivered the first display of their song, dance and theatre performance which they will also deliver several times in Japan. The group has been preparing for the trip since early July. The group departed Sydney on ANA on Sunday 24 September at 855pm and arrived in Tokyo Monday morning at 530am and then had a big day exploring before being introduced to their host families in Koshigaya that evening.

After arriving safely in Japan, the Koshigaya International Association met the group and took them by bus to the Imperial Palace, Yokohama Noodle musuem and to Koshigaya before being met by their host families.
